Just getting an iPad 2 is not enough for some people, apparently

With roughly three days to go before the iPad 2 becomes physically available, one Apple fan is already setting up camp in front of his local retail store to make sure he is the first to get his hands on the elusive tablet.

With the Knox Street Apple store reportedly closed for renovations, the Dallas resident has famously set up camp in front of the relocated shop just around the corner, to be the first to grab one of the iPad 2 tablets.

Initial pictures of the tent and temporary Apple store did not confirm whether or not the camper was the famous Apple line sitter, but recent reports indicate that the tent was indeed his.

He set it up yesterday, four days ahead of the launch. Some may regard his actions as a bit of a stretch. Others will praise him for his loyalty to the company that makes the best gadgets on the planet.

One way or another, the camper is on track to become one of the first, if not the first person to grab an iPad 2 in store.

As confirmed by Apple last week, customers walking in at their local stores will be able to buy one starting at 5:00 PM on Friday.

The camper is famous for pitching tent in front of Apple’s retail stores. The last time he got this kind of attention was when he pulled a similar stunt outside his local store days before the iPhone 4 was set to go in sale.

Although there are some rumors that Apple will not be able to meet demand of iPad 2 shipments (as always), the camper’s reasons to start an iPad 2 line are likely altogether different.

Those with a little less affinity for this kind of lifestyle have the option to place their iPad 2 order one minute after midnight on March 10.
