A family in Wisconsin have received support from their entire community to prepare the world's longest bratwurst.

The Ptaceks own the Ptacek’s IGA grocery store in Prescott. They put the giant product on the grill on Monday, and they had help. The entire town came down to help grill the 152-foot (46.3-meter) bratwurst.

The giant meat product weighs 80 pounds (37 kg), and it took 80 volunteers to flip on the grill.

According to the World Record Academy, the record breaking bratwurst was prepared by Mike Ptacek and his sons, Raphael and Tom.

They organized the event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the family owned store. Reps for the Guinness World Records also recognized the record for the biggest bun, which was used to eat with the bratwurst.
