14 DAY TRIAL // Whitney Houston's 19-year-old daughter is struggling with the same issues that led to her mother's premature death this February, a new report insists. Bobbi Kristina, or Krissi as her mom used to call her, would be better off in rehab.
At least, that's what her family believes right now, Star magazine claims in its latest print issue, as cited by sister publication Radar Online.
The entire family came together recently to get Bobbi to see that she needed help for her drug and alcohol-related issues.
They staged an intervention and tried to make her see she had a problem that she couldn't deal with on her own, but it eventually blew up in their face.
“Friends and family 'held an intervention recently' for Bobbi Kristina Brown, an insider tells Star magazine, as Whitney Houston's 19-year-old daughter has continued getting drunk, smoking marijuana and popping prescription pills in the wake of her mother’s shocking death,” Radar notes.
An insider claims that, while the family intervention did not work out as planned, no one is ready yet to give up on the teen.
“Everyone is worried sick about Krissy... her aunt Pat got a number of her friends and family to come to Atlanta and have a serious talk with her about her sobriety,” says the spy.
“There were lots of tears, but Bobbi Kristina didn’t listen,” adds the insider.
As per the same report, even Clive Davis, Whitney's good friend and mentor, has joined forces with the family members, trying to get Krissi to understand that, unless she's sober, she doesn't stand a chance at launching a successful career in showbiz.
Speaking to Oprah on the first televised interview since the diva's death, Bobbi herself admitted she was considering a career in the spotlight, which would involve both singing and acting, as we also informed you at the time.
“Clive keeps telling Bobbi she needs to go to rehab, and that if she does, he’ll help launch her music career. He’s doing everything he can,” the same inside source is quoted as saying.
