Interplay is soon going to bring us some more great games

Generally, whenever a sequel is announced, we're not happy at all, since we all prefer original IPs, but this time, things are completely different. Actually, we're so excited that we don't even know where to start - we're talking about many great titles that most of us have enjoyed!

Interplay, the company responsible for this great madness, has just announced its earnings for the fiscal year 2007 and the plans to keep going up. Even though 5.7 million dollars of the 6 recorded as revenues were the result of selling the Fallout franchise, the company plans to release a bunch of great sequels and start making some real money, while entertaining us, the gamers.

Therefore, Interplay has reinitiated its in-house game development studio and is still hiring game developers. The company plans to release sequels to some of their most successful and enjoyable products, like Earthworm Jim, Dark Alliance, Descent and MDK. Also, even though they have sold Fallout, they got a license back, under certain conditions, to create and develop a "Fallout" MMOG - and that's exactly what they're planning to do. And now, after reading these game titles, I'm sure you understand all the excitement.

Interplay CEO Herve Caen said, "2007 set the foundation for our growth strategy. Going forward, we have the vision, unique intellectual property, and low debt and operational costs to help us pursue financing for our various projects. Our new Website will streamline our ability to communicate development progress with the public, share brand information with the fans and support our customers."

Now, having in mind that Interplay is going to work on sequels for more than the titles they have named, we would tend to believe we might see some more Baldur's Gate or Freespace as well. Hopefully, since so many game projects are involved, they won't rush to finish one just to begin working for another and they will manage to bring us some real quality games. We might be able to check their progress by visiting their official website that's coming up soon.
