Fallout 4 might have already been announced, but E3 2015 is the perfect moment for the development team working on the new title to offer some more details about the core experience and the technology powering it.

Todd Howard was present at the Bethesda press conference and explained that gamers would be able to create their character dynamically via a very simple process and that the system is the same the company employed to create the NPCs that populate the game world.

The developer was unwilling to offer too many story details, but it seems that the player character will be lowered into Vault 111 despite the fact that he seems caught in the radius of a nuclear blast, and he emerges as the sole survivor.

Bethesda wants player choice to be the most important element of Fallout 4, which means that any area of the game can be explored and players will have more options than before when it comes to interaction with both characters and the environment.

The footage shown by the developers at E3 2015 suggests that the world is bigger and more detailed than before.

The dog will be an important part of Fallout 4 gameplay

Bethesda wants to create a true connection between the player character and the dog that he finds soon after he emerges from the Vault.

Simply pointing towards a location offers contextual options about exploration and behavior.

The demo for Fallout 4 also gave a short look at the enhanced VATS system that will be used for the combat side of the game, which will be instantly familiar to all those who have played the previous two installments in the series.

The entire Pip-Boy has been re-designed, allowing players to get more information about the character and the world they are exploring.

The Collector's Edition for Fallout 4 will also include a real-world version of the device, which has been designed to offer a second screen experience for the most dedicated of fans.

The device is designed to use a normal smartphone and to run a dedicated app that will allow gamers to better enjoy their post-apocalyptic experience.

Fallout 4 will be offered on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.
