There's still hope for next-gen graphics on the best-selling console

Do you know why Oblivion and Fallout 3 are so popular? The reason is called "Gamebryo" and it's one of the best engines ever used in videogames, so good that it now surfaced in a Wii-based version. A gamer who's tried Xbox 360 and Wii titles should know that a port between these consoles would be a mess, when it comes to graphics.

Also, many of us would love to play Oblivion on the Nintendo Wii, but I doubt that the little console can take the heat of such a title. The makers of Gamebryo have just announced a modified version of the engine that allows it to be used in Wii titles, bringing the top-notch graphics to the best-selling console. The first thing that comes to mind is an Oblivion port, or even a Fallout 3 title designed for Nintendo's blockbuster gaming device.

However, none of these titles were announced just yet, but if you ask me, I think that it's a matter of months till we see the games being revealed by their producers. Who wouldn't want his top-selling game to receive a port that brings it to the most acclaimed console of the year? Also, Oblivion's fanbase would surely consider taking the Wii title for a spin, in order to test the new control scheme and hoping for some extra content.

Personally, I'd be happy with a PSP Gamebryo or a similar engine, bringing some joy and semi-next-gen graphics to the portable console, especially now, that it's got a TV-out. Maybe we'll even be rewarded with a pleasant surprise, a "The Elder Scrolls V" title, surfacing as a Wii and PSP only game, spiting the other next-gen devices. Knowing that some people really care about the seemingly poorer consoles, when it comes to graphics, it generates a warm feeling inside for those lucky Wii owners.
