Fallout 3 was definitely one of the most anticipated titles of this holiday season, promising gamers to give them a new post-apocalyptic adventure, intertwined with the same light-hearted humor. The game puts players in the body armor of a character that ventures into the radioactive environment of the Washington area, which resulted from a devastating nuclear war.

A lot of innovations have been employed in the making of this game, with the new V.A.T.S. System, which helps players in the battles they wage in the wasteland that is the Washington area. Although fans were worried that the new owner of the franchise, Bethesda, wouldn't give them the same Fallout experience that Interplay did, Fallout 3 has been met with great expectations on their part and didn't disappoint in any way.

Now, as the hype has gone down, Bethesda has just announced that it will launch some very interesting things for the post apocalyptic RPG. December will see the launch of the Garden of Eden Creation Kit, or G.E.C.K., which will allow players to custom edit the game and create their own adventures with the items found in the title. From building landscapes, towns, or locations to writing dialog, creating characters, weapons or creatures, anything can be manipulated.

"We’ve always seen the original world of Fallout 3 as a foundation for even more content. Some created by us, and a lot more created by users," said Todd Howard, game director for Fallout 3. "It’s fun to create your own character, but it can be equally fun to create your own adventures. We can’t wait to see what the community does with the G.E.C.K."

Also, the company has announced that it will release 3 new DLC (Downloadable Content) packs that will arrive starting with January. Here are the details on these new adventures, as found on Kotaku:

"- Operation: Anchorage. Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. An action-packed battle scheduled for release in January. - The Pitt. Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. Choose your side. Scheduled for release in February. - Broken Steel. Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest. Scheduled for release in March."

All in all, some very interesting things that are sure to make Fallout 3 fans very happy. All of these tings will be available only for the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game, as PS3 users can only enjoy the standard game.
