Several shady websites are hosted on the same IP address

Users are advised to be on the lookout for fake Gmail emails that purport to come from “The Google team.”

According to Webroot, the emails read something like: “Automation Service Reporting: You have missed emails.”

When recipients click on the link, they’re taken to a rogue pharmacy site that’s often promoted through spam runs. Several such websites are hosted on the same server.

As always, internauts are advised to avoid purchasing anything from untrusted online drug stores, especially if they’re advertised via spam emails.

On the other hand, such fake Gmail emails can also be used for phishing scams. I bet there are plenty of users who might fall for it and enter their credentials if they were taken to a bogus Gmail website after clicking on the link.
