The phishers' imagination has no limits and any famous site might find itself involved in a phishing scheme. After getting bored with eBay and PayPal, the phishers are targeting now Yahoo.

Adam Biviano, senior systems engineer at Trend Micro Australia and New Zeeland, has found a site that looks just like Yahoo, but which is used as a trap to collect the users' personal information.

The victims access the site via a link sent through Yahoo Messenger. They expect to see a Yahoo service with games, but after they type in their personal data, the site displays this message: "PAGINA HACKEADA - CUIDADO!".

Adam Biviano said that the purpose of the page has nothing to do with credit cards or accounts, the phishers only targeting personal information.

The page was hosted on Yahoo GeoCities at this address http://geocities.yahoo.com.br/forun_amex/login.html, but the company has shut it down.

The fact that the link was received via Yahoo Messenger contributed to the phishing scheme's credibility and this not the first time when IM clients are used to spread these links.
