If you don't live in the US, you can't have U.S. content

I know that many of you have multiple Xbox Live accounts, one for each Xbox Live region. Personally, I have nothing against that, but Microsoft does. According to Xboxic, Microsoft plans to ban those accounts in the near future.

First of all, I don't get why Microsoft is planning to do such a thing, I mean, is there any account limit, or what? Many Xbox websites, including Xboxic, use multiple accounts to verify whether or not Xbox Live content has been made available in all regions.

"Responsible" for this account banning on behalf of Microsoft is the new video marketplace service that allows you to download movies and TV series straight on your Xbox hard drive. Apparently, Microsoft is having trouble with copyrights of the video material made available on the video marketplace.

So, I advise you to be attentive in the next few weeks, if you don't want your account to be banned. You know that when you log on to Xbox Live, your IP is scanned and if they determine that it doesn't belong to the region on which the specific account is registered, it might be banned.

Keep in mind that these are just rumors, as Chris Paladino from Microsoft Community Team confirmed only that downloads are being blocked from wrong regions and that no actual ban was performed yet. Everyone is waiting for official word but Microsoft doesn't seem to bother to respond.

If this information is indeed confirmed, you'll have to live in a certain country to have access to that country's Xbox Live content. As most of the interesting content is released in the U.S., gamers outside the states will be seriously affected and maybe, they'll have second thoughts about purchasing an Xbox.
