NBC’s Matt Lauer scored an interview with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on The Today Show and revealed to the world that Tim Cook sent the Facebook boss a free iPhone 5, as a token of appreciation.

Facebook and Apple may have had their differences in the past, Ping being just one brainchild spurred by the failed discussions between the two technology giants.

But Ping is dead now, and Apple has managed to get Facebook aboard. Both OS X and iOS have full Facebook integration now, which makes the company in Menlo Park a very important partner in Tim Cook's agenda.

In this respect, Apple's chief executive officer felt it was only appropriate to mark this marriage with a token of his appreciation – a free iPhone 5 sent directly to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook.

Asked by Lauer to comment on Apple’s smartphone, the Facebook chief said, “iPhone is a great platform. There are more people who use Facebook on Android — because Android is just — more people use it, at this point.”

“And the thing that I think a lot of people don't think about is that there are actually more people in the world using Facebook on mobile Web, right, so not using the apps on iOS or Android, but actually just going to a browser on a phone,” he said.

“There are more people doing that than the iPhone and all of Android phones combined, right? So it's actually a pretty diverse ecosystem,” he added.

During the interview, the Facebook CEO also revealed that he keeps a single drawer full of clothes in his home, and that he practically wears the same thing every day.

This habit, while rather uncommon, is a common trait among several high-profile CEOs, including Apple’s own Tim Cook, and the company’s former CEO, the late visionary genius, Steve Jobs.
