Facebook is now testing an updated friends page. The new page is live and can be visited by anyone, but the current version is still the default. There aren't any major changes though one thing that stands out is the emphasis on your recent interactions with your friends.

The new page, spotted by AllFacebook, is an evolution of the current one, though it does seem like it's now easier to find and manage your friends, useful especially if you have a large number of them.

The interface is also cleaner with fewer elements on the main page. The page is now split into three main tabs, Friends, Requests and Phonebook.

Below, you can check out all of the lists you may have created. Lists can prove very useful in managing the various groups of friends you have, but most people don't use them.

This may also have to do with the rather complex and confusing interface when trying to set up different privacy settings for each.

In the main Friends tab you will can check out the friends you recently had public interactions with. The emphasis on public interactions in important. This may be unintentional, but it makes it very easy to see which of your actions are for the world to see.

Of course, you can also see all of your friends or filter them by location, workplace, interest and so on.

The second tab lists all outstanding friend requests. This may not be a huge issue for most users, but the ones that regularly get a lot of requests should be glad to be able to manage them all at once in a more straightforward way.

Both the current and the testing page are live and it can be a bit confusing when moving between the two. You can check out the new friends page here.
