Facebook announced the start of a program that would enable users to connect to other online applications and websites, without the need to authenticate their sessions each time they log on. Through feeds, Facebook users can now connect and share different information from partners like CBS.com, Red Bull, Twitter, Disney-ABC Television Group, CNET and many others. The Facebook account can be used for an easy certification across the web, without having to worry about how privacy will be protected. The list of friends from Facebook will be available for users of other websites, making communication and social connections easier to establish.

"The power of feeds on Facebook is their ability to move you into a world where you receive relevant information in a social context wherever you are on the Web." Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, says about the new possibilities. Along with the Connect feature, Facebook is also opening its platform to developers everywhere. The "sandbox" for creators of web content is a list of applications that developers can use in order to make their works more visible on the web.

Another feature available for both common users and professionals is the Translation Application, which offers the possibility to make any work available in 20 languages, with 69 more coming in the next few months. Some of the applications that don't have a multi-language support can be translated by users, who can work side-by-side with developers to expand Facebook's multilanguage database.

"Through Facebook's international platform, the possibilities are endless for both developers and users," states Chamath Palihapitiya, vice president of growth, Facebook. "With no language barriers to break through, developers can take the stage with an even larger audience of users from all over the world, and users will have access to even more great applications than ever before built by the world's best developers."
