A new flavor of the Facebook Beta application for Android devices is now available for download for those who joined Facebook’s beta testing program that kicked off last week.

Still available for download as version 3.4, the new app release sports a different built number, while packing a variety of bug fixes inside.

According to a recent post on Android Police, the updated Facebook Beta for Android is meant to resolve an issue with the timeline profile pictures not getting updated in certain circumstances.

Furthermore, the new software version arrives with a fix for a crash in the photo picker, while also resolving an issue with a crash in the message list view.

The app’s release notes also show the following:

- Fixed crash when tapping Nearby suggestions - Fixed an issue preventing image cropping from working in some cases - Fixed an error that some people saw while sharing feed stories in personal messages - Fixed an issue that preventing people from turning off Facebook after installing Facebook Home - Plus more bug fixes

Furthermore, it seems that Facebook Home was updated as well, providing its users with a variety of stability improvements in Facebook Home when using folders.

Other changes in Facebook Home include:

- Updated translations - Foreign language fonts are now available - Home settings moved from the fold in bookmarks - Home is easier to uninstall

For those out of the loop, we should note that Facebook Kicked off the Beta Testing Program for its Android application so as to ensure that new features are extensively tested before arriving on all devices out there, and that bugs are fixed.

All users can join the program, and the beta flavor of the app won’t be available for them until they make this step.

To join, users should head over to the Facebook for Android Beta Testers group and sign in with their Google accounts. Then, they should agree to become beta testers, sign in into Google Play with the same account as in the Group, and only then they will be provided with access to the application.
