A new beta flavor of the Facebook application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 3.5, with some appealing new features packed inside.

Following the update, users will be able to save photos on their devices straight from the photo viewer, and will also enjoy a series of fixes for issues that caused the application to crash before. A problem that resulted in blank spaces being displayed instead of photos has also been resolved.

At the same time, the new app release brings notification scrolling capabilities, with older notifications automatically loading when scrolling to the end of newer ones, the release notes published on Android Police unveil.

At the same time, the on-screen menu bar has been removed from the bottom of the app on phones that don't have a hardware menu button.

On devices that have Facebook Home installed on them, phone's status bar now shows at the top of the lock screen by default. To download Facebook 3.5 beta for Android, follow the instructions on this page.
