We live in some pretty tough financial times, and with a lot of people’s gaming budget being drastically reduced, the best way to guarantee a profit for video game companies, both developers and publishers, is to make a lot of deals and promotions in order to get people interested.

Although Valve's Steam is a champion when it comes to such things, lately, Microsoft's Xbox Live service seemed to be set on catching up with it through the old Xbox Live Deal of the Week program, which takes various Downloadable Content or Arcade games and offers them with a discount to gamers who own an Xbox 360 console.

The last few weeks already saw promotions for the hit arcade title Braid, for two very special DLC packs for Ninja Gaiden II and Project Gotham Racing, and now a full game from the Xbox Original collection will be available for gamers who want to relax with a classic title.

This week's deal on the Xbox Live Marketplace is none other than the first Fable game. Now, amidst news of new DLC for Fable II and rumors about the third iteration, this deal might go unnoticed, but the 33 percent price drop will surely make quite a lot of Xbox Live gold subscribers pick up this very solid title. It is now available for download for just 800 MS Points, as opposed to the normal 1200 Points price tag.

Albion is as lovely as in any other iteration of the game, so a lot of people will surely download it, sparking new profit for Microsoft. Hopefully, more and more deals such as this one will arrive in the following weeks so that we can all enjoy some very interesting promotions. Don't forget that the Days of Arcade campaign is still underway, and you can get some top-notch arcade games for your Xbox 360 console.
