Along with sports and racing games

Peter Molyneux is one of the most interesting game designers in the industry. Sure, the first Fable was not all he advertised it to be and some gamers thought that the unrealistic expectations for the title were the direct result of Molyneux's statements while others feared that he might be hyping up the soon to be launched Fable II too much, but you cannot blame the man for loving his games.

The interesting thing is that, with Fable II all done, Molyneux is no longer talking about it. His sights are now set on Fable III, Fable IV and Fable V, which he seems sure he is going to develop as soon as Fable II launches. He said in a GameTrailers interview that "We've got plans for Fable III, IV, and V, actually... It's a big story arc, and you can see that if you've played Fable II you'll recognise things from Fable." So the series is well past the trilogy phase and looking a bit like the Harry Potter of videogames, which basically means there's no end in sight for it. Now, I am not opposing the existence of more Fable games, but I would like to first see that Molyneux manages to deliver on all the features he promised for the second game, like interesting side quests, a persistent world that responds to your actions and a real sense of drama in the story.

But Lionhead is not only working on the next three Fable games. Molyneux dropped hints that his studio might be also developing a sports game, a racing game and another unannounced project. They could be related to the Fable universe (Fable Kart anyone?) or could be independent projects. The sports game project is a direct result of Molyneux's love for challenges, as he thought to himself that "Well, one day I really should do a sports game." The developer says that the game would be very different from the sports games that are currently on the market.

For the moment representatives from Lionhead refused to comment on the statements made.
