Innovative Wealth Builders, Inc. (IWB) and its three principals have been banned by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) from selling or advertising debit relief or any other kinds of goods and services.

The Florida-based principals – Carly Janene Pelland, Sheryl Leigh Lopez, and Tamara Dawn Johnson – are accused of violating the FTC Act by falsely promising to reduce credit card rates.

Consumers were told that they could save thousands of dollars on credit card debts by using their services.

According to the FTC, the scammers misrepresented the services they were selling, charged their customers an advance fee, and billed them without their consent.

The FTC’s settlement order also includes a judgment of $9.9 million (€7.4 million) against IWB and its principals.

Generally speaking, services that promise credit card interest rate reduction should be treated with maximum suspicion, especially if they're advertised via telemarketing calls or spam emails.
