DROID by Motorola, the first Android-based handset at Verizon Wireless, has been recently updated to the latest version of Google's mobile operating system, namely Android 2.2 Froyo. However, it seems that not all the features that this software update was supposed to pack were there, and that a new solution started rolling out to DROID users, Build FRG22D.

This build FRG22D of Android 2.2 Froyo was the update that delivered support for Adobe's Flash Player 10.1 to the owners of a DROID by Motorola out there, and it should arrive on all devices by September 4, it seems.

According to a recent article on Droid-Life, Verizon Wireless and Motorola are set to end the deployment of this software update on the original DROID units out there before the end of this week.

As stated above, the new software update is meant to enable users download the Flash Player 10.1 from the Android Market, and to enjoy the benefits of this technology when accessing various websites on the mobile web.

Some leaked documents from the wireless carrier were brought to the web to show that the company indeed plans on ending the update roll-out in a matter of days.

However, in case there are some who might not want to wait for Verizon and Motorola to push the solution on their DROID devices, they can always try out a manual install of the update.

The software solution was spotted as being available for download from Google's servers, and all DROID owners willing to give it a try were able to download and install it via a simple process.

Since the solution is set to land on all mobile phones out there before this week is over, DROID users who consider that waiting for Verizon to deliver it to them is a better way to act should be able to enjoy it quite soon.
