Sony Computer Entertainment of America has announced a new set of bundles aimed specifically at the Latin American market, with the PlayStation 3 home console, the PlayStation Portable handheld and the older PS2 coming packed with football simulation titles.

Sony is saying that players will be able to pick up its hardware and choose whether they would like to get Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 from Konami or FIFA 11 from EA Sports with them.

The bundles were probably designed to attract football lovers in the region who are interested in remaking history using their favorite teams.

PES 2011 might have a leg up on FIFA in the head to head comparison, considering that it simulates region specific competitions.

Sony has not talked about the pricing for the new products.

The new bundles will be launched in: Argentina, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Brazil, Peru, Honduras, Belize, Paraguay, Uruguay, Guatemala, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Bolivia.

Sony has also said that it will be announcing more hardware and video game packages in the near future.

The announcement also includes the launch of a new advertising campaign focused on Latin America and called “Live In a State of Play”, which will include television sports and is designed to show off the capabilities of the PlayStation line of gaming hardware and the recently launched Move.

Pablo Del Campo, the Chief Executive Officer of Del Campo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi and Chief Creative Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi Latin America, stated, “PlayStation is always pushing the limits of entertainment with groundbreaking technology and game experiences. It’s always a thrill and feels like you are experiencing something for the first time. We wanted to seize that emotion in every aspect of the campaign.”

Sony also describes the Latin American market as one which has a lot of growth potential and a push now might guarantee bigger sales than the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii later.
