FIFA Manager 12, the football management series from Electronic Arts, has always lagged behind Championship Manager and Football Manager in terms of popularity and, for this year's installment, the developers have asked the community directly to get into the development process and suggest new features for the game.

EA Sports says that the “Your Feature” campaign has attracted feedback from thousands of players, both when it came to suggesting game ideas and to voting for the most interesting ones.

The list of features that the community has suggested and the developers have introduced in FIFA Manager 12 includes: “Speeches Before The Match,” “European Cup Final Match,” “Open Trials for New Players,” “Manager Challenges” (serving as a tutorial mode) and a host of extra features linked to the final 24 hours of the transfer market.

Gerald Köhler, the lead designer working on FIFA Manager 12, has said, “It was very exciting to see so many great ideas proposed by our fans.”

He added, “We were impressed by the passion these fans exhibited towards the game and the quality of the ideas generated. Working with the community helped us target more than 700 improvements that will make this the most authentic football management simulation we have ever produced.”

The developers are saying that FIFA Manager 12 will include more than 700 changes over the previous installment, most of them linked to the 3D game mode that shows how games play out, the calendar and the financial management element.

There are also more options linked to the online modes, allowing players to create avatars and then participate in online fantasy leagues complete with more statistics than ever.

Development duties are handled by the Bright Future studio based in Cologne.

FIFA Manager 12 will be launched exclusively on the PC at some point during the fall of this year, presumable after the late September date of FIFA 12.
