Call of Duty needs to get settled in second place

FIFA 15 is back at the top of the United Kingdom top ten this week and it might be ready to settle in for a long-term domination that could cover December of this year as well as the first two months of 2015, as gamers no longer have big new releases to tempt them.

The game has registered a drop of only 2 percent in overall sales when compared to the previous week, which is a good sign for its long-term prospects, and the interest of the community will be sustained with weekly releases of new packages for the Ultimate Team mode and the delivery of more title updates to deal with issues that the community flags.

FIFA 15 is launching a special set of events and special Ultimate Team sales in time for Christmas, and a new Holiday Edition of the game also gives players access to Lionel Messi as a loaned player for five matches and to more in-game currency to spend as they see fit, although it is only offered via digital outlets.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has lost plenty of sales for the week that ended on December 6, and the game is now in second place and it will probably enter a long-term decline which will only be reversed by the launch of the first downloadable content pack, which is called Havok and will be deployed in early 2015.

The last position on the podium in the United Kingdom, according to UKIE, belongs to Grand Theft Auto V, which holds to its position from last week despite seeing a decline of 20 percent in its own sales.

The Crew has an unimpressive first week

Far Cry 4, the open world title from Ubisoft that does not have any significant problems on any platform, is in fourth at the moment and is followed by LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, which received some big promotions in stores and managed to propel itself and its wide cast of superheroes and villains to fifth.

The Crew, the new racing title created by Ubisoft that is designed to allow gamers to explore a virtual version of the United States, is the first new entry of the week in sixth place.

Assassin’s Creed Unity continues to feel the effects of its botched launch and has dropped another two places to seven for the week, even as the development team is preparing more updates, and is followed by a double dose of Minecraft, on the Xbox and the PlayStation.

DriveClub, the problem-affected racing experience from Sony, closes down the United Kingdom top ten.
