14 DAY TRIAL // It might be New Year’s Eve, but the development team at EA Sports is ready to offer long-time fans of FIFA 15 one final treat for this year, a new Team of the Week package for the Ultimate Team mode which features a very solid line-up of players that can be used to improve any player-picked eleven.
The developers have cleverly laid out the team in the Christmas tree formation and that means we only have one true striker ready to deliver goals, Daniele Cacia, who is supported by two very capable players from the English game, Wayne Rooney, the leader of Manchester United, and Adam Lallana, the very good offensive midfielder from Liverpool.
There are three midfielders supporting the attacking line of the FIFA 15 Team of the Week: Mane, Sanchez, and Rafaelov.
The four-player strong back line is made up of: Young, Morgan, Shawcross and De Witte.
The EA Sports-selected goalkeeper for the new Team of the Week is Hugo Lloris from Tottenham, and as always, a full selection of reserve players is also included for gamers to test out.
In early 2015, the developers will probably also deliver a Team of the Year for FIFA 15.
Long-term support is a must for modern sports simulations
The regular Team of the Week deliveries for FIFA 15 are important because they show the community that the game is getting attention from the developers and that the football world is regularly being scoured for rising stars and established players that can be part of a good team.
The long-term support is justified by the initial sales of the game and by the fact that Ultimate Team has become one of the most important revenue streams for Electronic Arts and does not require any physical sales from the company.
In February of next year, EA Sports will deliver a major update for FIFA 15 which will introduce all the real world transfers that will take place during the January window and might also make some tweaks to the mechanics, although nothing radical is expected.
