The development team at EA Sports is ready to reveal the official cover of the upcoming FIFA 15, which will feature once again Lionel Messi, the Argentina and Barcelona superstar, chosen once more to embody the core values of the long-running series.

Messi has previously been featured on the covers of FIFA Street, FIFA 13, and FIFA 14, and the developers are saying that since he was first part of the series the player has set the record for most goals in a year, with 91, and has also managed to pick up four FIFA Ballon d’Or awards.

EA Sports adds, "This past season, the 27 year old had 28 league goals for FC Barcelona and captained Argentina to the FIFA World Cup final. During the World Cup Messi won four Man of the Match awards, scored four times and received the Golden Ball award for best player of the tournament."

The studio has also worked with the official foundation that the player has created in order to contribute to the football world by creating a new street pitch in Barcelona, which is designed to be used by young players who want to improve their skills.

EA Sports says that a number of local stars will be sharing the official cover of FIFA 15 with Messi in certain territories, with official announcements set to come in the coming weeks.

Expect major stars like Wayne Rooney, Ibrahimovic, Pogba and more to be featured.

FIFA 15 will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and current-gen consoles on September 23 in North America and three days later in Europe.

The game will use an all new version of the Ignite engine on next-gen consoles and on the PC, and the developers at EA Sports are promising to improve both the graphical quality and the core gameplay features.

FIFA 15 will have smarter players on the pitch, better able to communicate with their squad mates in order to get into good positions on the attack and capable of anticipating how a play will flow when on a defensive position.

Gamers will also be able to enjoy new animations and representations of real world superstars, like Messi, which are designed to capture their personality and their play style.

Improvements will also be made to the very popular Ultimate Team mode, but the EA Sports team has not yet offered details about them.
