FIFA 14 has not been officially announced yet, but the development team working on the game at EA Sports is ready to offer fans of the sport an idea of how the game will play when it launches during the fall.

David Rutter, the executive producer linked to the series, tells WhatCulture that he wants to improve the solo game modes in order to make sure that fans are satisfied even if they don’t plan to compete with their friends.

He states that gamers choose to play on their own “because it’s an excellent experience, and also because it’s sometimes a major hassle hooking up with your mates online to play head to head or the people online are quitting/cheating/beating you up. We’re working on that too.”

He also envisions a future FIFA experience that has a lot of new features but also improves on those that are already present.

The focus will be on depth and on new ideas that make an already compelling experience even more addictive.

He adds, “Our biggest features in the last three years have probably come from ‘deep’. I think deep is what gets the 90+ ratings and the fans eager, but you can’t be too narrow. Our fans have really diverse tastes in modes and we need to cater to that.”

FIFA 13 marked a turning point in the franchise because the team worked to integrate uncertainty into the football experience, giving players a number of unforeseen events to deal with on the pitch.

Since the game was launched, EA Sports has worked to balance the game and eliminate bugs while also updating stats and teams rosters after the winter transfer period.

FIFA 14 will probably be launched on the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 but also on next-gen home consoles from Sony and Microsoft.
