FIFA 14, the football simulation from EA Sports, is the current leader of the United Kingdom video game sales chart during a week when little has changed at the top as gamers are still recovering from the big spending they did during the holiday season.

The title has received a boost from the announcement of the Ballon d’Or and of a special team made up of all the players that FIFA included in the World XI.

Call of Duty: Ghosts, the first-person shooter from Infinity Ward and publisher Activision, is in second place for the seven-day period that ended on January 18, despite posting lower overall numbers than Black Ops 2 managed during the same period of 2013.

The last place on the podium belongs once more to Battlefield 4, the multiplayer-focused experience from DICE and Electronic Arts, which continues to get access to small changes on all platforms, designed to make the game run better.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag continues to execute a series of piracy missions in fourth place for Ubisoft and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, from Warner Bros. Interactive, is the first title to actually move in the United Kingdom chart, gaining one position for the week that ended on January 18.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is another title that managed to gain position, reaching sixth coming from eight, according to UKIE, showing that the PlayStation 4 home console has a title that can create long-term sales.

Need for Speed: Rivals, the racing game from Electronic Arts, remains in seven and is followed by the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft, which has managed to gain one place.

GTA V is the biggest drop of the week and went from five to nine in just one week and the United Kingdom chart is closed down by Aliens: Colonial Marines.
