FIFA 11, the football simulation title from EA Sports, has taken over the top position in the video game sales chart for the United Kingdom market, managing to finally dislodge Call of Duty: Black Ops from the number one spot after about two months of unchallenged domination.

FIFA 11 has managed to impress those who are interested in guiding their favorite team to victory and fame with the new Personality+ system, which aims to bring the same moves and attitude on the virtual pitch as seen on the real one, and it seems that the game has superb staying power, taking a number one position on the cusp of 2011.

Call of Duty: Black Ops might have slipped to second place, but there's a good chance that the video game that was developed by Treyarch and published by Activision might return to the top position on February 1, when the Xbox 360 version is set to receive the First Strike map pack, with four new multiplayer areas and one zombie based one.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit from Electronic Arts and Criterion has managed to hold on to the third spot in the United Kingdom chart while Just Dance 2 from Ubisoft has continued its good pop fueled run to stay in fourth.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, also from French publisher Ubisoft, has also managed to remain in fifth place, showing the lasting appeal of Ezio's adventure, while Kinect Sports from Microsoft has climbed up two places to reach sixth, showing the growing popularity of the Kinect motion tracking system.

Gran Turismo 5 from Sony is in seventh place while the Sims 3 from Electronic Arts has also slid down one place to reach eight.

Fallout: New Vegas, the mix between role-playing game and action from developer Obsidian and publisher Bethesda, has returned to the top ten, probably powered by strong Game of the Year buzz, while Dance Central from Harmonix also made a comeback to close down the top ten.
