The handset features dual cameras, a primary 1.28 megapixel camera used mainly for taking pictures, and a secondary one with a lower resolution of 1.1 megapixels intended for video capture.

F702iD is the first phone from the 70x series to support "Osaifu Keitai" wallet service that allows the phone to be used as a credit card. To increase the security measures a fingerprint sensor allows users to securely lock the handset, or configure it to lock and unlock automatically at specified times. Also, the mobile offers automatic Security Scan, which uses the latest security software updates automatically downloaded from DoCoMo.

E-mail management is easy due to the Automatic Send feature which delivers the mail as soon as the user enters an area that has network service, and the Quick Reply feature which minimizes the number of steps required to send an e-mail.

The handset has support for the i-channel, which automatically sends news and weather forecast directly to the phone's screen. Also, it comes preinstalled with G-GUIDE EPG Remote Control, an application that downloads program listings for TV transmissions.
