F1 2010, the Formula 1 simulation title created by Codemasters, has taken the top position in the United Kingdom video game chart from Halo: Reach, the science fiction based first person shooter from developer Bungie and publisher Microsoft.

F1 2010 uses the EGO engine, which also powered racers GRID and the new Colin McRae DIRT, and introduces a complex weather simulation system while also offering all the teams and the pilots (except mid season replacements) that take part in the real life 2010 Formula One Championship.

Halo: Reach might have fallen from the top spot but the Spartans, playing out the last game in the series under Bungie supervision, are still holding on to second spot, managing to fend off a determined zombie fulled challenge coming from the Capcom made Dead Rising 2.

Another new launch, Civilization V from Firaxis and 2K Games, sits in fourth spot of the United Kingdom chart.

Sports Champions, the mini games collection that Sony has put out to show off the capabilities of the PlayStation Move motion tracking system for the PS3, has fallen from second spot to fifth while the debut of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock only managed to get the music based game to sixth spot.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands from Ubisoft managed to only slide acrobatically two spot from five to seven while Mafia II from 2K Games saw one of the biggest drops of the week by going from third to eight.

Toy Story 3 from Disney Interactive Studios sits at number nine while the newly launched Final Fantasy XIV MMO from Square Enix closes down the top ten.

Just Dance from Ubisoft has exited the top ten, with dancing probably waiting for the sequel to make a comeback, and is joined by Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 from EA Sports and by Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days.
