So-called eyeCan devices will be possible to make and modify

People with disabilities often have difficulties interacting with technology, so Samsung decided it was going to help them out.

Of course, when it comes to moving a mouse cursor just by looking at it, we are willing to bet everyone will want in on it, not just the injured or the ill.

The eyeCan mouse, demonstrated in the video above, is just the first implementation.

Samsung has promised to release the source code for it soon.

After that, the DIY (do it yourself) guide should be enough for other inventors to build on the idea.

If anything, people paralyzed from the neck down will finally have something interesting to do with their time, especially since an on-screen keyboard could even let them type. Social networking and web browsing, among many other things, will actually be within their capabilities.

Hopefully it won't take long for affordable eyeCan products to be launched and mass produced.
