iPhone accessory maker MiLi owned by Hali-Power Industrial Co., Ltd. has confirmed through a special report that it is one of the few, if not the only provider of iPhone external batteries that didn’t have to adjust its designs to fit the CDMA version of the iPhone 4.

In a report published this week, MiLi acknowledges that Apple’s popular iPhone 4, now on Verizon’s wireless network as well, comes in two versions - GSM and CDMA.

The latter version is targeted at Verizon, which partnered with Apple to get iPhones into the hands of non-AT&T fans.

All this came with a small redesign of the handset. Leaving the CDMA chip and antenna redesign aside, Apple was forced to move the Verizon iPhone’s volume buttons up a tad. The same went for the mute switch.

MiLi now explains that, during their brand's initial research and product development for the iPhone 4, “the team began by focusing on usability and convenience, and as a result, removed the rim of the frame in the space occupied by the pause button of the iPhone 4 and made the external battery for the phone foldable.”

“These design features were originally intended to prevent the top casing of the external battery from falling off, and to ensure that a blockage would not result in a fracture of the rim, but coincidentally they also became the main factors in the compatibility of MiLi products and the new CDMA version of the iPhone 4,” MiLi finally reveals.

The accessory developer now brags that it was the necessity of these few small adjustments that caused the majority of other brands' iPhone 4 accessories to be incompatible with the CDMA iPhone 4.

These include external batteries, protective cases, and other iPhone 4 accessories. MiLi suggests that, at least for the former category of add-ons, iPhone 4 owners can fully rely on its offerings.
