14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft released the second service pack for Expression Web 3, and made the bits available for download at the end of the past week. Expression Web 3 Service Pack 2 (SP2) went live on the Microsoft Download Center on April 5th, and customers can now grab the bits completely free of charge. According to the Redmond company, the service pack brings to the table the latest updates for Expression Web 3, but the software giant provided only minor details about the release.
A Knowledge Base article accompanying Expression Web 3 SP2 RTW wasn’t live at the time of this article, in order for users to access a detailed list of additions and the changelog for the product. However, the KB resources are bound to go live soon, and I will make a point of providing an update once additional information becomes available.
“Expression Web 3 SP2 contains general improvements to the application and to SuperPreview,” Microsoft stated. “You can install Expression Web 3 SP2 if you have either Expression Web 3 or Expression Web 3 with Service Pack 1 installed. Expression Web 3 SP2 includes SuperPreview support for Firefox 3.6 along with improved stability when working with CSS, PHP, and PDF files.”
According to Microsoft, Service Pack 2 can be installed on top of either Expression Web 3 or Expression Web 3 SP1, running on Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP SP3. Expression Web 3 SP2 hit the release to web (RTW) milestone approximately five months after the delivery of the first service pack for the product. Expression Web 3 SP1 brought to the table a range of minor changes and bug fixes, and developers and designers leveraging the product should expect the same from SP2. Keep your eyes on this space and an update will be offered soon detailing the evolution of Expression Web 3 with the advent of SP2.
