The President wants to put an end to the illegal wildlife trade as soon as possible

About a week ago, President Obama visited Africa and promised that he would help end the illegal trade in animal body parts, especially rhino horns and elephant tusks.

The President seems more than willing to stand by his word.

Inhabitat reports that, shortly after returning from Africa, Barack Obama has issued an executive order that will lead to the setup of a presidential task force intended to protect the endangered animal species that risk going extinct because of poachers.

As previously reported, Obama's presidential unit will be in charge of rolling out a national strategy for halting illegal hunting and wildlife trading activities.

Now that the president has given the executive order for the setup of this task force, we can expect that it will not be long until the US becomes a major player in the fight against poaching.
