Two new Update Rollups are available for download for customers running the latest releases of Exchange Server.

Earlier this week, Microsoft started serving Update Rollup 3 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 1 as well as Update Rollup 3 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3.

I have included download links for the two update packages at the bottom of this article, and customers can also check out the couple of Knowledge Base articles that accompany the refreshes, namely KB2492690 for Exchange 2010 SP1 UR3 and KB2492691 for Exchange Server 2007 SP3 UR3.

Update Rollup 3 for Exchange Server 2010 SP1 is designed to resolve a number of problems that were reported by UR2 customers, or that were identified by the software giant.

Kevin Bellinger, a Senior Program Manager within the Exchange Customer Experience (CXP) team highlighted the following fixes:

2432494 'Database Copies' list is being populated incorrectly (case sensitive) in EMC with DAG in place after upgrade to E14 SP1;

2489822 Users without mailbox can't delete items in shared mailbox via OWA premium;

2511471 Folders take a long time to update when an Exchange Server 2010 user uses Outlook 2003 in online mode.”

Update Rollup 3 for Exchange Server 2007 SP3 is also designed to improve the customers’ experience with the predecessor of Exchange 2010.

2267661 Exchange should support promotion of multipart/mixed messages into a single aggregate body;

2479939 Resource Booking using ScheduleOnlyDuringWorkHours does not consider mailbox's time zone,” are two of the issues resolved in UR3 that Bellinger underlined.

Microsoft will move forward to the Update Rollup 4 for both Exchange Server 2007 SP3 and Exchange Server 2010 SP1, now that UR3 have been launched. Exchange customers can expect the next update rollups to be delivered in May 2011.
