No details on new project

We've heard that the people who left Infinity Ward in the last weeks now have a potential home in Respawn Entertainment, announced as building a development team and having an exclusive publishing deal with Electronic Arts.

What we do not know yet and what the people who started the company are not talking about at the moment is what kind of games they will be interested in creating once they get set up. The main idea is that they will not want to make another Call of Duty or Medal of Honor.

The ultimate aim of Jason West and Vince Zampella, the founders of Respawn Entertainment and the ex leaders of Infinity Ward while it worked on the Modern Warfare franchise, told G4TV that their aim is to deliver explosive and impressive videogaming experiences. West stated, “It's all about fans and coming up with something that's going to make their head explode and get them completely excited and give them a ton of fun. We can't wait to start talking to them about what we're doing and what they'd love to see us do.”

West also suggested that the new team might take a more collaborative approach when it comes to the first game, talking to the fans about what they would like to see in a videogame. He said that “As Vince was saying, we're gonna find space and infrastructure and build up those things, we're gonna build up our team, we're going to start talking new ideas, start talking to the community, both here and abroad to get the international perspective on what everyone would love to see us do, and we'll go from there.”

Don't expect Respawn and Electronic Arts to actually talk about a fresh project for a while now. Probably the only news linked to Zampella and West in the coming months will be related to the lawsuits that have been filed against the two by Activision Blizzard.
