14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer Turtle Rock and publisher 2K Games are announcing that the 1.1 patch for the PC version of Evolve is now going live and that gamers should be seeing a range of improvements and some bug fixes as soon as they download it.
The studio makes it clear that all the changes are based on the information that has been generated by the community via both personal feedback and the data gathered from matches.
The focus seems to have been on improving overall stability and balance, while also making sure that the wide range of hardware on the PC market is well supported. A full list of changes can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.
The 1.1 patch for the Xbox One version of Evolve was launched two weeks ago and so far no information was offered on whether an update is also being planned for the PlayStation 4 from Sony or when it might be deployed.
The fact that the Turtle Rock team is focused on each platform separately is an interesting move given that most developers tend to deliver the same list of changes for all versions of their titles.
The studio has said on launch that it will carefully watch how the shooter is played in order to determine the changes that are needed to improve the overall experience.
Evolve has a long plan for downloadable content deployment
Patches are very important for the video game because it needs the player base to stick around in the long term and to support it by buying the downloadable content which is set to be launched.
The community will get access to new monsters and Hunters, which will come in DLC packs that need to be bought, and to more maps, which are offered for free to all those who have the game.
As the number of characters is increasing, Turtle Rock will have to work harder to make sure that the title is balanced and none of the newly introduced options makes it too easy for either side to win.
Evolve is an asymmetrical shooter that asks a team of four Hunters, each with their unique skills and weapons, to track and take out a powerful Monster, who needs to evade them as he increases in power and then move to accomplish his objective.
