This season, scarves are a must for a dash of trendiness to your personal style

There's no way we could ever forget about scarves, as designers constantly keep reminding us that they're a hot, hot accessory. They’re omnipresent, from the catwalks to down on the streets. If this past summer has shown us how beautifully they may be used in lieu of belts, the fall tendencies bring the Audrey Hepburn style back like never before – ladies, prepare for going back to the ‘50s again, and protect your beautiful winter curls in a classy way by covering them up with a scarf.

Fashion history classes have taught us that the uniqueness of a frock or of an outfit often resides in the accessories they’re matched with. That's why it's best to choose them accordingly. When it comes to scarves, especially for this fall/winter season, there is nothing but good news coming our way. As such, you can either continue wearing (only adapted to the colder weather) the items you bought all summer long, or you can go for what's hot right now.

Even a dull, single-color outfit can become a surprising hit when accessorized with a scarf – wear it around your neck (and bear in mind that the longer the scarf, the better), or tie it around your hips and waist. The latter can work with pretty much everything, from dresses and jeans, to trousers with a classic cut. Also, if you feel cold, you can brave the weather while also showing off your fashionistas skills by wearing the scarf as a headdress – and you'll definitely get that mysterious diva look all women strive to attain.

As for the colors, have a blast while looking for the most animated, keeping in mind that this season is all about the complete absence of limits. Choose your scarves to be bright or intense colored, patterned or simple, rectangular or the regular shape, knitted or silky, whatever best suits your personal style. A true and confident fashionista with an oriental sense of style and lots of personality might prefer scarves with laces, beads, pearls or coins. However, if that's too much for you, just pin it down with a dazzling brooch or pin, and go out to conquer the world in the most feminine way possible.
