Today's kids are quite attracted by the Internet and most of them have already spent a few hours every day surfing the web. Because of that, but mostly because of their early age, kids are very vulnerable while being online, so parents must educate and protect them using all the available solutions.

But according to a recent online survey, parents are rarely going online to protect their children, Web User News informs today. It seems like one of the main reasons for avoiding connecting to the web is the fact that they "don't trust their own IT skills to supervise or assist with surfing."

"Schools today are populated by digital natives - children and young people for whom using the Internet is intuitive, easy and an invaluable support to their learning. Parents naturally want to help their children make the most of the Internet, but many of them, on the other hand, are digital novices. The course is carefully designed for all those people who still lack the confidence and ability to use the web," Minister for Schools, Jim Knight MP, said according to Web User News.

As you know, most kids and teenagers usually visit social networking websites which, despite their popularity, may be a real danger for them. It has been proved that social networks, including the super giants Facebook and MySpace, host all kinds of users, no matter if we're talking about people looking for chatting, friends or pedophiles.

The last ones in this list surely represent one of the main reasons for social networks turning into real threats, so authorities from all over the world try, with the help of the parent companies, to reduce the phenomenon and create a safer place for all segments of users.
