Eva Mendes is considered one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood at the moment, what with her full lips, perfect skin and hourglass silhouette, and, last but not least, impeccable style. However, the actress reveals in a recent interview with Marie Claire, looking this good is never an easy task, because curves can instantly make an outfit distasteful if not careful.

As fans must know, Mendes is often credited to doing her bit for the anti-size 0 cause with the public stand she made long ago on eating healthy, leading an active life and, most important of all, embracing the body we’re born in. The actress, never the one to go down the road where she’d starve herself to become a size 0, has often spoken out against such an absurd practice, saying each woman should learn to love and appreciate the body she has. She, for one, loves her curves, even if they make it harder for her to keep up with the trends.

“I love my curves and I embrace them, but I have to walk a fine line. There are certain dresses that are like: ‘Oh, this is really feminine.’, but then I’d try it on and it just turned.” Mendes tells Marie Claire, stressing that, because of the way her body is shaped, she has to pay extra attention to what she wears. This comes to contradict the image the star has in the media, namely that she’s the type of woman who looks positively breathtaking in absolutely anything, be it sweatpants or a designer gown. “I think it comes down to being voluptuous, and if your body’s a certain way, then things can go distasteful in a second.” Eva further explains.

The actress, who has lived these past months out of the spotlight following a highly mediated stint in rehab, also reveals to the magazine that she has turned to therapy to cope with the pressure of fame. Because the impact of the media on a celebrity is so huge, Mendes turned to a professional for guidance and perhaps a shoulder to cry on. Talking to someone you don’t know and who, even better, is not allowed to repeat what you tell him or her, is the best kind of relief, the actress believes.

“[I’m] a woman who has been through life experiences, thank God, and therapy. I love therapy! I’m very into it. I’m very in touch with my feelings, so I’m a completely different person. Not that different but you know... I gotta tell you, there’s nothing like going in and sitting down and talking to someone who has no emotional tie to your life. Just to talk to someone. It’s amazing.” Eva Mendes concludes by saying.
