Gorgeous actress says it's hard to live up to the ideal of beauty in Hollywood

In the January 2012 issue of Health magazine, gorgeous actress Eva Longoria opens up a bit about health and staying in top shape and, believe it or not, how she's not actually as gorgeous as we might be inclined to believe.

After a bad breakup from her husband Tony Parker, Eva found love again: this time, in the muscular arms of Penelope Cruz's younger brother, Eduardo.

However, before that, Eva went through the darkest period of her life, as she was learning to cope with the fact that her marriage had gone down the drain.

She lost a lot of weight, believing she'd never looked worse. Ironically enough, it's when people told her she was looking her best.

“I remember after my divorce, I was so thin and everyone kept saying how great I looked and it was probably the most unhealthy place I’ve ever been,” she says for Health.

Speaking of health, the actress recalls her biggest regret to date: when she turned vegetarian in an instant and the diet did not wrecked havoc on her body.

“That time I became a vegan. I love the philosophy behind veganism, but I went from one day eating chicken and meat to eating just salad,” she says.

The diminute star also underlines that beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, especially when it comes to showbiz.

Contrary to what people might say about her and how many “hot” lists she tops, Eva knows she doesn't really look like the stunning, confident woman walking down the red carpet at movie premieres and awards shows.

If anything, she'd like the entire world to know that.

“It takes a village to build me for the red carpet. It’s an illusion created by stylists, hair, makeup. I don’t put as much effort into it as my team does,” she explains.
