Eurotech decided it was time to offer vehicle installations a new computer system, so it put together a device that packs advanced communications options while also featuring a significant level of ruggedness.

Vehicle electronics and computing installations have to meet certain vibration-resistance and overall endurance levels that regular PCs don't need to concern themselves with.

Eurotech states in its new press release that the DynaVIS 10-00 is more than sufficiently rugged for the transportation market.

“The DynaVIS 10-00, based on the Intel Atom processor, is a purpose built device that provides customers with advanced communications options into a compact, yet rugged, railway certified product,” said Robert Andres, corporate marketing director of Eurotech.

“Moreover, customers can leverage the combination of Everyware Software Framework (ESF) for fast and reliable application development and Everyware Device Cloud to easily integrate embedded devices into their IT business applications.”

The new item is certified to perform with a wide range of power supplies, is easy to maintain and can even help build scalable, robust cloud applications through Everyware Device Cloud (EDC).

An Intel Atom central processing unit power the configuration, while the display is a touchscreen panel of 5.7 inches in diagonal.

Eurotech also made a point of mentioning the existence of GPS, USB, optoinsulated I/Os, serial ports and other transportation specific features.

Furthermore, the DynaVIS 10-00 can connect to the web through not just WiFi but also 3G cellular networks, in addition to Gigabit Ethernet.

All in all, the Eurotech DynaVIS 10-00 promises to provide all needed capabilities, and something extra, in environments with mechanical and temperature stresses.

It is here that people interested in learning more about it can go to have a direct look at all the specs and even download the full data sheet. Finally, the press release says that the newcomer is already available.
