South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has just confirmed that the newly unveiled Galaxy Nexus smartphone is set to make an appearance on the market in Europe on November 17th.

Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone in the world to run under the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system from Google.

The handset also brings a series of other innovations into the mix, being design to set a new standard in the smartphone industry.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not offer specific info on the availability of this device in the United States, though rumor has it that it should arrive there on November 10th.

The mobile phone should land at wireless carrier Verizon in the US, which was rumored to have exclusivity on it for a short period of time.
