A new 3D engine for this game

Europa Universalis III is a strategy computer games scheduled for release on January 23rd of 2007. The game starts in 1453 right after the fall of the Constantinople and goes on until the French and American Revolution.

There are over 250 playable countries in the game with almost 1,700 provinces available. You have to control one country and guide it through several decades of history. The population of each province is valuable to determine the wealth of that certain province. The larger the population is, the more taxes you will be able to levy.

Each province will be able to feed and support a limited number of active armed forces. This feature is called "Supply Limit" and it depends on the base supply value of the province and its production capacity.

Another feature of the Europa Universalis III universe is "Max. Attrition". This will shows players how fast an army will lose men if the province's supply limit is exceeded. "Revolt Risk" is probably self-explanatory, but note that this feature will measure your country's stability and that any positive risk value will indicate that a province is ready to revolt against your country.

As regarding the "Manpower" feature, I must inform you that your province's population will provide you with manpower, and your domestic policies may increase its value. The last feature I will present is the "Garrison" (no, not Mrs Garrison of South Park). This feature deals with the armed troupes that are garrisoning your province's fortification, which are ready to defend the city if any enemy should attack.

Apparently, this game will feature a totally new 3D engine and will borrow ideas from games like Crusader Kings, Victoria and Hearts of Iron II.
