The team at Paradox Development Studio is not yet ready to offer an official name for the next expansion for Europa Universalis IV, but it seems that the planned launched date is set for June of this year.

The company mentions it in a new development diary that also offers some more details about the changes in mechanics made to the grand strategy experience.

A huge change will be the fact that the annex option for peace treaties is being eliminated from Europa Universalis IV, replaced by the choice to target every province owned by the enemy when they are defeated and seeking to end a war.

Paradox states, "You will also always be able to demand the capital in a peace treaty, and you also do not need to occupy territory to demand it in peace, however unoccupied territory is more expensive to claim."

The tweak is included in the patch that will accompany the new expansion for Europa Universalis IV, which means the entire player base will benefit from it.

The revocation of core provinces will no longer cost any diplomatic power.

The team also says that the development level for an area will be important when it comes to diplomatic power cost, war score cost and prestige gains during the conflict.

The same newly introduced values for provinces will be important for the overextension and aggressive expansion mechanics in Europa Universalis IV.

Gamers will also get an option to simply return a province they get after peace negotiations, which will make it easier to appease neighbors and to limit the conflicts that appear over shared cores.

Europa Universalis IV will probably get an overhaul for European countries

A series of teasers posted by the development team suggest that the coming expansion is designed to improve the way a range of European countries are depicted in the game.

Gamers will also get more options for the moment when they manage to lead the HRE and other tweaks linked to religions.

The new expansion for Europa Universalis IV also includes a redesign of the entire war system, which should make combat more decisive and limit the number of conflicts required to deal with a rival.
