Europa Universalis IV is one of the most expected strategy titles of 2013 and the team at Paradox Interactive is keen to increase its profile and attract the attention of gamers via a new Call to Arms promotion.

Gamers can sign up via an official website and based on how many other strategy-minded friends they can recruit, they will be rewarded regardless of whether they buy the game or not.

The rewards start when three friends are recruited and then constantly go up to the 100-gamer barrier.

They include books with introductions from the development team, extra downloadable content for the game, a place in the official credit list, access to the beta for Europa Universalis IV and trips to the studios of Paradox to play multiplayer matches with the developers.

Thomas Johansson, the project leader for Europa Universalis IV at Paradox Development Studio, states, “Over the years, you have all helped us build one of the most dedicated game communities available. We wouldn’t have come this far if not for the loyalty of our strategy fans everywhere, and we want you to know that.”

He adds, “So if you want to support Europa Universalis IV, please spread the word and invite your friends – if you believe that they long to conquer the world. Strategy Gamers of the World – this is our Call to Arms.”

Europa Universalis IV is a grand-strategy game that allows players to choose from a huge range of nations and guide them through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

The game will deliver a new trade system, has eliminated spies and there are general improvements to all other mechanics, with a smarter computer opponent that can stand up to human tactics.

Europa Universalis IV is set to launch on the PC in the fall of this year.
