The team at the Paradox Development Studios is announcing that they are planning to launch the El Dorado expansion pack for Europa Universalis IV on February 26 via digital distribution services, allowing fans of grand strategy to get access to a range of new experiences revolving around South and Central America and a range of unique new religions.

This is the fifth full expansion for the game, a testament to the longevity of the concept and the support that it has received from the player base, and the company says that there are a lot of new elements added to the game for both those willing to pay and for those who will stick with the game experience.

Europa Universalis IV - El Dorado is introducing an entirely new Nation Designer which will allow players to create their own faction and then try to lead it to victory, choosing its capital, the territory it will control and the policies that it will try to implement in order to power its ascension.

32 new nations can be used in the campaign and the feature is also available for multiplayer matches if gamers are using the expansion.

Europa Universalis IV - El Dorado is focused on the Aztecs and the Inca

The grand strategy game is already offering gamers a chance to create a randomized version of the Americas in order to make exploration more interesting and the new expansion is designed to make it more interesting to play as nations in South and Central America.

Both the Aztecs and the Inca have new religions active, which require human sacrifices from time to time and tend to also deliver more wars, with the player having to try and reform them step by step in order to try and then stand up to Western nations when they arrive after crossing the ocean.

Doomsday is a new gameplay mechanic for those willing to play in South America, and those who prefer sticking to European nations will be able to also deal with new exploration mechanics which allow them to search for such things as the Fountain of Youth and the Seven Cities of Gold.

There are also solid gameplay enhancements that are being introduced in the free patch and will accompany the launch of Europa Universalis IV - El Dorado.
