Eurocom, a company that is well renowned for its high-performance notebooks and mobile workstation, has just announced that it has updated its high-end Panther series to make it compatible with the TPM secure computing specifications.

Just as before, Eurocom allows its users to configure the Panther 3.0 with both consumer and enterprise LGA 1366 Intel processors, as the mobile workstation is built around an X58 chipset.

The processor list includes a wide range of CPUs and the most powerful options that are available are the Intel Core i7-990X Extreme and the Xeon X5690.

Both of these CPUs are based on the Westmere-EP architecture and pack six processing cores with Hyper-Threading support, 12MB of level 3 cache memory and have a TDP of 130W.

The integrated memory controller found inside the Intel chips can access up to three memory channels which can be packed with as much as 24GB of RAM.

Together with these powerful processors and the 24GB of memory, Eurocom also allows its customers to choose from a wide selection of discrete graphics cards, which includes solutions built by both AMD and Nvidia.

Furthermore, the workstation can even accommodate two graphics cards, linked together through SLI or CrossFireX, and users can also select from the GPU list between three Nvidia Quadro processional solutions.

As far as storage is concerned, the machine packs no less than four physical drive bays, that can be populated with HDD, SSD of hybrid storage solutions, and supports the RAID 0/1/5/10 operation modes.

Just as it was the case with the previous 2.0 model, the screen used for the Panther measures 17.3-inch in diagonal, has a glossy finish and supports a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Sadly, the Hannstar HSD173PUW1 panel isn't anymore available as an option.

The Panther 3.0 laptop is already available on the company's website and its starting price has been set at $2726 US.
