Eurocom made good on its promise to release laptops based on the newest mobile graphics solution from NVIDIA, having updated its newest high-end notebook from the Panther series.

Some time ago, NVIDIA released the GeForce GTX 580M and GTX 570M mobile graphics solutions, essentially its two strongest notebook components so far.

Not long afterwards, Eurocom said that it would update its mobile personal computer offer to include the new GPUs.

Sure enough, the company made good on that promise, issuing a press release in which it revealed that the Panther 3.0 is the first machine to undergo the transformation.

Said notebook can be found here and features either a six-core Intel Xeon central processing unit or a quad-core one.

The laptop also boasts a maximum of 24 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory) and up to four storage units (HDDs or SSDs), leading to a top capacity of 3 TB.

“The Eurocom Panther series offers the most versatile and the most upgradeable high performance notebook form factor solution available on the market,” said Mark Bialic, Eurocom President.

“It offers the functionality of a high end notebook, Mobile Workstation or Mobile Server depending on configuration. With NVIDIA’s new GeForce GTX 580M we offer another level of high performance GPU upgradeability.”

For those that want a reminder, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M boasts 2 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, 384 CUDA cores and clock speeds of 620 MHz for the GPU, 1,240 MHz for the shaders and 3,000 MHz for the memory. Finally, the interface is 256 bits.

All in all, if one were to choose this high-end video solution, the base price of the Panther 3.0 will be increased by $591, or $1,400 if the SLI package is chosen.

Either way, with a base cost of $2,726, it is clear that prospective buyers will have to make sure their finances can take a hit, GTX 580M or no.
