Casual games are brought to Nintendo's casual heaven

Find the hidden object (or hunt and find adventure, as some call it) is one of the most successful genres in casual gaming on personal computers. However, Majesco Entertainment plans to bring such games to the consoles and the developers consider Nintendo's Wii the best to take on such a responsibility.

Therefore, they will port Escape the Museum to Nintendo's console, hoping it will have at least the same success it has had on PC platforms. However, the price of $19.99 might be a bit too much for what the game has to offer or if we are to compare it with its price for PCs.

Anyway, Escape the Museum comes with the same story: a devastating earthquake has messed up the National Museum of History and players must help Susan Anderson - who was knocked unconscious by falling debris while searching the museum for survivors - escape from the crumbling building to the safety outside. There are twelve different areas and a total of 25 puzzles you'll have to solve by using the Wiimote to uncover hidden exits or find precious artifacts.

"Although an incredibly successful PC genre, the hunt and find adventure category has yet to be introduced on Wii," said Liz Buckley, Director of Marketing, Majesco. "Escape the Museum's online success coupled with category opportunity and an attractive price point make this an ideal title to bring to market."

As you can see, there are two different opinions on the price of the product and probably the Director of Marketing knows better, right? Anyway, one thing is sure: if Escape the Museum becomes a successful title, we'll see a lot more similar ones on the Wii. This might be a good thing, since Nintendo's console is made especially for casual games.

Escape the Museum will be available for purchase this Holiday Season.
