Escape from Monkey Island is a video game that was developed and published by LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC. The game was launched on the PlayStation 2 home console from Sony, the PC and the Mac platform in 2000.

The title is classed as adventure game with a focus on exploration and puzzle solving played from a third person perspective.

The game puts the player in the sea faring boots of Guybrush Threepwood, the character players should already be familiar with from The Curse of Monkey Island. He managed to defeat LeChuck, the zombie pirate, marry Elaine Marley, his long time love, and take to the sea again.

Back from their honeymoon the couple begins to notice that their lazy Carribean home is quickly changing. A stranger has appeared, named Charles L. Charles, who is campaigning to become governor of the island and seems able to enthrall all residents. There's also a businessman, called Ozzie Mandrill, who is eager to make the area an attraction for tourists from all over the world.

There's also the small matter of the mansion in which the two live being tore down. As always Guybrush needs to take matters into his own hands and solve all these problems.

The game is the fourth in the Monkey Island series and the main gameplay elements are pretty much the same as in previous titles, with the player gathering objects from his environment in order to solve puzzles while also becoming engaged in branched dialogues.

Characters will also be able to insult sword fight. The characters models are in three dimensions while the backgrounds are pre-rendered.
